Hey there, I'm Liam.

I am a recent graduate from the University of Santa Cruz in California, where I studied economics and business. My love for the field -- just as well as many of my other personal interests -- stems from an inexplicably deep fascination for both asking and answering the world's "why" questions.

 This kind of questioning seeks to understand how all things came to be... why any given outcome is shaped by the marriage of preexisting circumstance with necessity and preference. Exploring these questions clarify the world around us, and are a tool for us to mount a defense against life's most difficult and perplexing obstacles.

To borrow from the great John Muir, "when one tugs on a single thing in nature, he finds it is attached to the rest of the world..." And that very little around us is truly random.
